Building blocks which is a typography based project From using Tape  15 pieces of work for each term used in Typeface design. We all had different approaches in the class. Some people had really basic ideas  that were easy to understand which is good ion a way. Others took the risk and found new ways to make their own tape face. After looking at everyone’s pieces of work I realised that I can improve my work to the ways they thought of and I did not. Throughout the holidays I learnt a lot of new terms to typography and how to use these terms in a professional way. That again interlink with laws and rules. I found this task quite difficult  to make tape type and smart way to use space. I feel if I practice I’ll get there After hours of experimenting and thinking I did what made me feel happy which  was the Arabic inspired letters. Then for the next part  we got recognisable objects that we found interesting. To develop our second typefaces we had to bring in rough line sketches and then develop lettering from these forms. My favourite items were the battery and a spoon . After investigating these forms I decided t go with a simple sketch for my typeface. And then what I did was get a photographic version of It to appeal it with. And for my specimen all I did was parents from the batteries I used.

Crit

For my crit most students liked my work and the idea of developing Arabic and English typefaces together they think I could have improved my specimen and made more decorative. They love the idea of joining up two languages which I also love as well.
