Artists

Dagger (meaning of dolk)

His styles usually refers towards pop-cultural references put into a humoristic or critical context. His work is mainly seen in walls in cities such as Bergen, Berlin, Copenhagen, Barcelona, Oslo, Lisbon, Stockholm, London, Prague and Melbourne. In 1979 he started with stencil art and printmaking. As he mentioned previously he inspired from the British street artist Banksy to start with stencil art.

Banksy and Dolk

As I gathered a mood board from each artist and as it was mentioned before Dolk is inspired from Banksy which links to the reason why both have very similar styles. Yet I see Banksy is more likely classic when Dolk is more colourful and as I can see he develops his work to the next level of his own harmonious creativity. I as an individual I like both styles and I agree on the fact both are very similar that it might be hard to tell who's work is this?

I look at it and wonder how they managed to follow up with simple stencil and prints and end with a brilliant concept which can evoke emotions and also change people's minds and make them feel differently, either if it's political or cultural at the end of the day we see this in the street that we walk to. From speaking about this I remembered when I was watching this drama about this ordinary girls who keeps walking next to the wall it always stops her for a while makes her think she sometimes cries and other times smile and that's what I see those street artists do they involve everyone their target audience is not just on specific age.

Face Painting

He is mainly known as a painter and he is an English contemporary artist and painter based in France. He is the founder of the Neomodern group and part of the urban art scene in Bristol. His artwork is very much solo and mixed which I find very inspiring and gives me the potential to paint for some reason I think I should try this and take the risk of learning more about this medium. I have always been drawing and I honestly haven't painted in a while now and his work now is encourages me to go on that route and be as experimenting as possible. What attracted me to his work is the faces and expressions evoked from them that obviously states the main factor yet, I think there is a deeper concept that can be human rights or people struggle or even how they react to certain things we can never know what is hidden behind those faces either good or bad maybe pain the colours he uses are sharp and mainly dark which gives me an indication that it is dark mood.
